At-Large contestants are currently being accepted to represent their city or parish.

Queens will receive a rhinestone crown, monogrammed banner, banner pin, and gift bag.
Runner ups 1st – 3rd will receive medals. Photogenic & Portfolio are optional and will receive nice gifts. Overall Photogenic will receive a nice Photo Frame; Overall Portfolio will receive a nice Photo Album. Overall High Point will receive real Crown Jewelry and Luggage Tote bag. Other awards will include: Fashion, Pant wear and Best Interview. Talent winner will receive a trophy, monogrammed banner, banner pin and gift bag. The prize list is growing daily.

General Information:
Hotel:
ALL Delegate must stay at the hotel. The Belle of Baton Rouge (The Sheraton) 102 France St., Baton Rouge, La 1-800-266-2692. Must book rooms by 3-30-12. Double rooms will be $139 a night and will include breakfast and price will be extended to Sunday 4-22-12.You can get joining rooms but must request this at the time of reservation. You must tell them you are with Miss Louisiana Plus America pageant to get this rate. Check in is at 3pm and check out is at 12 noon.
Door Contest : finish by 4pm on 4-22-12
The outgoing Queens will be going around to the delegates rooms to judge the Best Decorated Door. This is just for fun!! Be creative and show your pageant spirit. It can be about your city, pageants or your favorite things. A gift will be given to the winner.
AD SALES:
Everyone is required to sell one full page ad for the program book. Full page ad is $100. You can sell Ads for The Official Program Book to offset your entry fee. I sold business card ads for $50 each and you can put 8 on a page. Deadline: For Photos and Ad sales is March 30, 2012. You must Email Photos and ads to lastatempa@cox.net. Program books will be $15. All delegates will receive a free program book in your welcome packet.
Charities:
The Baton Rouge Food Bank—Please bring 3 can goods to donate.
The Cinderella Project—Please bring any unwanted gowns to donate so that an underprivileged girl can have a prom dress.
Registration/Orientation 6:30pm Friday 4-20-12:
Nice Jeans/denim Capri, a nice white shirt and comfortable shoes. We will be taking a tour of the hotel after orientation. Banner required.
This is a when you submit Your Photo, Portfolio, Entry form if not mailed in & Emcee Sheet. We will have extra Emcee sheets @ registration. You will be given a schedule at this time. Final Balances are due at this time(cash or money orders only). You will get your contestant #, Back Stage wrist band ($10) Only One person will be allowed in The Dressing Room to assist you. You & Your family may purchase Tickets for Pageant Finals at this time. Admission - $10 (Adults), $0 (visiting Queens, must be in crown & banner), $3 (Children), and Under 2 (Free) everyone pays except contestant.
You need to bring a Small token/gift to the out -going queen in your division. Make sure your title and contact info are included on a card in the gift.
Piercing and Tattoos:
Please remove any nose or tongue piercings. They are a distraction and should not be worn during competition or appearances. You should cover any tattoo that is large or on the upper body that shows. They will distract from the elegance of your attire and may cause you to get lower scores. Judges are looking at the overall package.
Photogenic:
This is a competition separate unto itself. You will turn a head shot photo in color or black and white. NO crown photos allowed.
Portfolio:
This is a competition separate unto itself. You will turn in 5-10 photos of yourself in a presentation folder. This competition is judged on a variety of poses, originality and photogenic appeal. NO crown photos or nudity allowed.
Interview 10am Saturday 4-21-12:
Your attire should reflect a serious and focused woman. A nice suit or church dress is appropriate. NO PANTS! Choose a color that compliments your skin tone and a cut that is flattering and looks good sitting down. You want them to hear what you have to say not be distracted by what your wearing. This will be 25% of your score. Number on the right hip. No crown/banner.
Talent 6pm Saturday 4-21-12:
This is a competition separate unto itself. It has its own entry fee. Talent may consist of singing, dancing, poetry reading, sign language, twirling, playing an instrument, etc. No piano will be provided. This competition is judged on stage presence, originality and difficulty of routine. Props are allowed. Acts are not to exceed 4 minutes. No fire acts! Each delegate must provide a CD of their own music for the performance. Delegates will get into event free you must wear crown and banner. Admission - $10 (Adults), $0 (visiting Queens, must be in crown & banner), $3 (Children), and Under 2 (Free) everyone pays except contestant.
Opening Number 11am Sunday 4-22-12:
This will be a parade of delegates to introduce themselves. Attire is Banner, Denim jeans, any boots of your choice and shirts as follows: Miss- Pink, Ms- Yellow, Mrs- Blue.
Elegant Pant Wear:
This should be a nice pantsuit that you would wear to a cocktail party. Rhinestones and hats are allowed. The judges are looking at the entire package so you need to “own” the stage. Pick an outfit that is your personality and style. This will be 25% of your score. Number on the right hip. No crown/banner.
Evening Gown:
Your evening gown should graze the floor. Make sure that it is the same length all the way around- that it is not shorter in the back. The color should be appropriate for your skin tone and the design should be age appropriate. No see-through material, extreme plunging necklines or mile high slits. Your choice should represent a regal and stately refinement. This will be 25% of your score. Number on the right hip. No crown/banner.
On Stage Question:
After you finish modeling evening gown you will go to the back of the stage and pick a question out of a bowl on stage and the Emcee will read it out loud and you will have around 3 minutes to answer the question. Keep it to the point and don’t ramble. This will be 25% of your score.
